A 42-year-old woman was killed while riding an e-scooter in Allentown on Friday night. The driver of the SUV that struck her is facing charges including driving under the influence.
The crash happened on the 4200 block of South 4th Street just after 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to investigators.
Investigators say an SUV rear-ended the woman’s scooter.
The driver, 22-year-old Eliezer Santiago, tried to flee the scene, investigators said.
Police took him into custody a short time later, after he nearly hit a vehicle responding to the scene, police said.
Santiago is facing several charges, including driving under the influence.
